London Bridge Quarter is the capital’s most exciting and ambitious new development.
It comprises three major new schemes: The Shard and New London Bridge House - both designed by Renzo Piano - and Thames Link, the £3.5m transformation of London Bridge Station.
The integration of the complex train, tube, bus and taxi connections, at what is one of London’s busiest transport hubs, is an important element of the overall redevelopment of the site. It will include creation of a new bus station and improved pedestrian links to both the mainline and underground stations. These developments will reinvent Southwark as a truly 21st century commuter hub.
Meanwhile, with the new huge and attractively landscaped public piazza, London Bridge Quarter will be to Southwark what Canada Square is to Canary Wharf.
This area of London is rapidly becoming the city’s most dynamic destination with stylish bars and restaurants, and a raft of other attractions such as Potters Field Park, the capital’s newest public park.
From The Shard, it is just a short walk to some of London’s most famous cultural destinations including Tate Modern, Shakespeare’s Globe theatre, Tower Bridge, the Tower of London, Borough Market, Southwark Cathedral and City Hall.
